Challenge
Web3 gaming had a trust problem. We’d seen it everywhere: projects that raised money and never shipped, “play-to-earn” titles that were barely playable, and players left holding tokens for games that never materialised. The space was full of promise and short on real products.
We wanted to build the opposite. Something that actually worked: a real game, accessible to anyone, on any device, without heavy installs or high-spec hardware. The challenge was to take our combined experience in gaming, finance and tech and turn it into a single product that felt good to play first, with Web3 and earning built in as part of the experience, not as a gimmick.
That meant solving real design problems. We needed a peer-to-peer marketplace where every player-crafted item could be traded for real value (TitanX on Ethereum), so the economy had to feel transparent and fair. We had to make mining and crafting satisfying, then layer in boss battles where players fight together and share a slice of weekly revenue based on damage dealt. The game had to be free to play with optional crypto, so wallet connections and withdrawals had to sit in the flow without getting in the way. And it had to run in the browser and on mobile so anyone could play from anywhere, no app store, no big download, just a link.

Solution
TerraX is that product. We built it in the browser with a deliberate hybrid approach: it feels like a normal web game (Web2), instant load, no wallet required to start, but under the hood it’s connected to the TitanX ecosystem on Ethereum. You can play straight away; when you’re ready to trade, earn or withdraw, the Web3 layer is there. That choice was core to the design: accessibility first, crypto when it adds value.
As lead designer I owned the full visual and UX flow, from the initial concept and mood of the world through to the React build that’s live at terrax.win. The core loop is mine, craft, battle, trade: players tap to mine ores, forge tools and weapons, then use the peer-to-peer marketplace to buy and sell everything they’ve made for TitanX. Boss battles let the whole community fight together and split 30% of weekly revenue by damage dealt, with rare drops on top. We added dungeon content, gathering (wood, fishing, cooking) and durability so the game kept growing. The interface had to work for people who’d never touched a wallet, while still making deposits, withdrawals and TitanX rewards straightforward for those who did.
Keeping it lightweight was non-negotiable. We optimised for mobile and low-end devices so that anyone with a browser could play, anywhere. No app store gate, no heavy client, just a link. The result is a real game that’s actually shipped, with a player-driven economy that runs on-chain and a community that’s grown organically. TerraX exists because we wanted to prove that Web3 gaming could mean a real game first, and earning second.

Outcome
The result is a game that stands on its own merits while offering genuine earning potential. TerraX showcases how engaging game mechanics can seamlessly integrate with blockchain technology, providing players with an intuitive experience regardless of their Web3 familiarity.
