VibeCode Alternative: Fix Your Vibe-Coded App
A VibeCode alternative is what you need when an app you built by prompting, in Vibecode or any other vibe coding tool, works in the demo but not with real users, real data or App Store review. Urban Catalyst fixes vibe-coded apps: we find what's broken, keep what works, and turn it into a mobile app or web product that engineers can maintain.
VibeCode Alternative Done Right
A Vibe Coding Alternative for Apps That Need to Last
Fixing a vibe-coded app means reading the code an AI wrote, finding the security holes, fragile logic and missing error handling that a working demo hides, and then deciding feature by feature whether to repair, refactor or rewrite it.
Vibecode is a mobile-first take on that workflow. You describe an app, often from your phone, and an agent that Vibecode says is powered by Claude Code builds it; its docs describe React Native with Expo for mobile, a built-in backend called Vibecode Cloud for data, auth and storage, source-code download or SSH access for editors like Cursor, and publishing to the App Store. It's an impressive way to get a native app onto your own phone in an afternoon.
The difficult part comes later, and it isn't specific to Vibecode: code written one prompt at a time rarely has a plan behind it. We see the same patterns in apps built with Cursor, Claude Code, Bolt or Replit. We use AI tools every day ourselves, but a person reviews every line, which is the argument we make in Vibe Coding Won't Save You.
VibeCode Alternative Services
Vibe-Coded App Triage
A fast, honest read of your code: what's solid, what's risky, and what will break first. You get a prioritised fix list, not a sales pitch for a rewrite.
Security Fixes
We check for the issues in the OWASP Top 10 that prompting tends to miss: broken access control, secrets in the app bundle, unvalidated input and over-trusting the client.
Expo and React Native Hardening
Navigation, state, offline handling, crash reporting and performance on older Android phones, built on the same stack we used for the Wiggle app.
Moving Off Vibecode Cloud
Your data, users and files moved to a backend you control, such as Supabase or PostgreSQL with Node.js, with the same kind of architecture as our SaaS builds.
Your Own AI and API Keys
AI, maps and image features that ran on built-in credits are reconnected to your own provider accounts, with keys kept on a server and usage limits so a single user can't run up your bill.
App Store Readiness
Privacy details, account deletion, sign-in options and review notes prepared so your first submission from your own developer account has the best chance of passing.
Tests and Maintainable Structure
Tests around the flows that make you money, consistent folder structure and a real design system instead of one-off styles on every screen.
Signs Your Vibe-Coded App Needs an Engineer
Vibe coding is excellent for finding out whether an idea works. These are the signals that the idea works and the code no longer keeps up:
Every fix breaks something else
Asking the AI to fix one bug reintroduces an old one, because nothing tests the whole app.

You're afraid to touch payments or auth
They work, but nobody can explain why, or what happens when they fail.
Real users see each other's data
Or you can't be sure they don't. This is the most common serious bug we find.
App Store rejections
Missing privacy information, crashes on review devices, or sign-in rules you didn't know existed.
Credit and API bills climbing
Features call AI models on every tap with no caching or limits.
An investor or developer asks to see the code
And you'd rather they didn't.

Fix, Refactor or Rebuild a Vibe-Coded App?
Fix
When the structure is reasonable and the problems are specific: a leaky permission rule, an unhandled error, a slow query. This is the cheapest path and more common than people expect.
Refactor
When the app works but each change takes longer than the last. We keep the screens and user flows, and reorganise the code underneath in stages while the app stays live.
Rebuild
When the data model is wrong or security can't be patched safely. We rebuild as a focused MVP, using your vibe-coded app as a working specification, which is far faster than starting from a blank page.
How Much Does It Cost to Fix a Vibe-Coded App?
Fixing or rebuilding a focused vibe-coded web app starts at $4,500, our MVP web tool price. A full production web application starts at $12,000, and a production cross-platform mobile app (React Native with Expo) at $18,000. Ongoing support is $1,200 a month.

How We Migrate from VibeCode
01
Get the Code Out
You download your source or give us SSH access, and we put it in a GitHub repo you own. For other vibe coding tools, a repo link is enough. The review is free.
02
Triage and Plan
We run the app, read the code and list issues by risk. You get a fix, refactor or rebuild recommendation for each area and a fixed quote.
03
Move and Repair
Backend, users and files move to accounts in your name, your own API keys replace built-in credits, and we work through the fix list with tests on a staging build.
04
Ship and Support
Release through your own Expo and Apple developer accounts or your web host, with crash and error monitoring, followed by optional ongoing support.

VibeCode Alternative FAQs
What is the best VibeCode alternative?
If your app already exists, the best alternative is engineers who fix and own the code rather than another prompt-based tool. If you're choosing a builder for a web app instead, see how we handle Lovable projects; for web plus Flutter, see our Rocket.new page.
Can you fix a vibe-coded app, or do you always rebuild?
We fix far more often than we rebuild. Most vibe-coded apps have a handful of serious problems and a lot of code that's fine. We recommend a rebuild only when the data model or security can't be repaired safely.
Can I get my code out of Vibecode?
Yes. Vibecode's docs describe downloading your source code and connecting over SSH from editors like Cursor. We take that code, put it in a repo you control, and replace the parts that depend on Vibecode Cloud.
Do you work with apps from Cursor, Claude Code, Bolt or Replit?
Yes. The problems in vibe-coded apps are similar whatever tool wrote them. If your app came from Base44, the migration is different because more of the backend lives on the platform.
Can you publish my Vibecode app under my own developer account?
Yes, and you should. Because Vibecode builds on Expo, we can set up builds under your own Expo and Apple developer accounts, and add a Google Play listing if you want Android. The app, its reviews and its users then belong to your business, not to a tool's account.
Is my vibe-coded app secure?
Assume not until someone has checked. The most common problems are users being able to read other users' data, API keys shipped inside the app where anyone can extract them, and checks that only happen on the client.
How much does it cost to fix a vibe-coded app?
A focused web app starts at $4,500, a production web application at $12,000 and a production mobile app at $18,000. Smaller fixes can fit a $1,200 monthly retainer. Use the quote builder for an estimate.
How long does it take to go from vibe code to production?
A focused fix or rebuild typically takes 4–8 weeks, and a full production build 8–16 weeks. Mobile adds time for store review. Your current app stays available while we work.
Will you keep using AI on my code?
Yes, as a tool, not as the author. We use AI to move faster, but every change is reviewed and tested by an engineer before it ships, so you know exactly what's in your product.
Is vibe coding a waste of time, then?
No. It's one of the cheapest ways to test an idea, and a working prototype makes our job faster because it shows exactly what you want. Our AI app builder service explains how we combine AI speed with engineering.
Who will work on my app?
Our founders. You speak directly with Joshua Groombridge, who leads development and design, rather than an account manager.
